In India, the F-21 “beat” the MiG-35

India may acquire American F-21 fighters, rather than Russian MiG-35s, because it is interested in modern avionics technologies and effective simulators, writes Free Press.

“Thus, for a long time the well-known lag of Russia behind the USA in the field of IT-technologies practically erased all its other achievements to the Russian manufacturer,” the publication believes.

The publication recalls that the MiG-35 is superior to the F-21 in terms of maneuverability, but inferior to it in flight range, and notes that taking advantage of the first aircraft in comparison with the second requires the presence of unique pilots, which are “piece goods” ".

“It seems that we still lost this air battle with the West,” they conclude in the publication.

In July, Chinese companies first entered the ranking of the 100 largest military-industrial suppliers according to Defense News, overtaking Russian enterprises.

In the same month, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov said that the project of the short-range passenger aircraft Tu-334, compared with the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) program, was deadlock because it would not allow “to form the capital of reliable and competitive scientific and technological solutions”.

In February, the US military-industrial company Lockheed Martin announced the F-21, which is a rebranding of the fourth-generation fighter F-16V Block 70 for India.

In the same month, it was reported that the Indian Air Force intends to acquire from Russia 21 Soviet fourth-generation fighter MiG-29s, whose hulls will be used to build a more deadly multi-purpose aircraft.
