The American magazine National Interest has compiled a list of four Russian bombers, which, according to the authors of the material, are the most dangerous. This was reported on the website of the publication.
So, the Russian Tu-95, Tu-22M, Tu-160 and the Long-range Aviation Complex of Long-Range Aviation (PAK DA) were included in the list.
Developed in the 50s of the last century by the Tupolev Design Bureau Tu-95, for example, it has a large payload and a sufficient radius of action. Modernization of the aircraft allowed to increase its service life, and most importantly, maintain efficiency, according to the National Interest.
Journalists singled out another Tu-22M aircraft because of its take-off handling and balanced speed characteristics. Tu-160, in turn, as the author of the material recalls, is a real "predator", which at one time set several records.
PAK YES, which is under development, will undoubtedly be the most deadly bomber, the journalist said. This conclusion was reached by the National Interest on the assumption that it will become, in fact, the next-generation “invisible aircraft” and the first Russian aircraft unrelated to Soviet developments. The first PAK DA flight is scheduled for 2021-2023.
In August, it was reported that there are currently more than 1.8 thousand aircraft in the Russian Aerospace Forces. TASS, citing open sources and its own files, counted more than 800 fighters (Su-27, Su-30, Su-33, Su-35, MiG-29, MiG-31 and their modifications) from the Russian military, about 200 attack aircraft ( Su-34, Su-24M and their modifications), more than 200 attack aircraft (Su-25), about 150 training aircraft (Yak-130 and others), about 70 strategic bombers (Tu-95, Tu-160 and others) and more than 40 long-range Tu-22M3 bombers.
