The designer explained the non-standard landing of the Su-57

The fifth-generation Su-57 fighter releasing brake parachutes before touching the strip is a standard situation, the AviaComments Telegram channel reports in a comment by the chief designer of the aircraft Mikhail Strelets.

“The release of a brake parachute to ensure landing on a shortened area,” said the specialist. According to him, this happened at an altitude of 2-3 meters, and "the professionals immediately realized that it was a regular mode."

The fighter_bomber channel on Telegram responded to the statement of Sagittarius with a quote that goes back to the Russian comedy "DMB": "We will turn your ailment into a feat."

The non-standard landing of the Su-57 took place on training flights in Zhukovsky (Moscow region), preceding the performance of the fighter at the 2019 International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2019), then various versions of what happened, including the shutdown of the safety system and a shortened landing, appeared.

MAX-2019 was held from August 27 to September 1.
