The ground battery of the first American hypersonic weapon will include four TEL (Transporter Erector Launcher) launchers, each of which will be mounted on an M870 trailer. Relevant details in May, revealed the Lieutenant-General of the US Army Neil Furgood, writes The Drive.
One TEL will receive a pair of hypersonic missiles ready for launch, as well as several additional ones. The first HGB test run with TEL is scheduled for 2022. On the pilot-combat duty weapons can arrive as early as 2023. HGB with a TEL in the Pentagon is considered as a test of a specific implementation of hypersonic technology. The main competitors in this area in the United States consider Russia and China.
