The Design Bureau (Design Bureau) Yuzhnoye at the Zbroy and Bezpeka-2019 exhibition (Weapons and Security-2019) in Kiev presented a mock-up of the Bliskavka (Lightning) supersonic missile of an air launch. The corresponding video was published by the Ukrainian militaristic portal.
It is proposed to launch an air-to-surface missile from a Su-24M bomber and a Su-27 fighter, which are part of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “The missile does not require significant re-equipment of these aircraft,” the portal said.
In August, Yuzhnoye showed bench fire tests of the third stage of the Cyclone-4 medium-class launch vehicle.
In March, the American publication Popular Mechanics, citing sources in the rocket and space industry in Ukraine, reported that Yuzhny, located in the Ukrainian Dnieper, is developing a hypersonic reusable space system for Saudi Arabia designed to launch small satellites.
